Last updated: 16 October 2026
English translation of the Italian version of 16 October 2026.

This page explains which personal data we process when you visit wltv.it, comment on an article, write to us or follow our channels: why we do it, for how long, who we share the data with and what rights you have.

1. Who processes the data

The controller is WLTV S.r.l.s., with registered office at Via dei Castel Lentini 85, 96010 Priolo Gargallo (SR), Italy, VAT number and tax code 02051410898.
For any privacy matter you can write to privacy@wltv.it.

The controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer.

2. Browsing the site

Every time a page is requested, the server records the IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and the type of browser. These data are needed to run the site and to reconstruct any abuse.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site.
Retention: 12 months.

3. Security

A protection system (Wordfence, by Defiant Inc., USA) automatically blocks IP addresses that attempt unauthorised access or request non-existent pages in bulk. When someone tries to log in to the site’s restricted area, their IP address is checked against the Wordfence security network, which flags addresses already known as sources of attacks.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting the site.
Retention: up to 30 days.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files that the site stores in your browser. We distinguish them as follows:

  • technical: they make the site work or remember one of your choices, for example your answer to the banner. They do not require consent;
  • statistical: they count visits. The ones we use identify the individual browser, so we activate them only with your consent;
  • profiling: they are used to show advertising based on your interests. Only with your consent.

On your first visit a banner asks you what to accept. If you close it with the X, you accept nothing. You can change your choice at any time from the “Review your cookie choices” link at the bottom of every page.

The cookies this site stores on your device:

name set by purpose duration type
FCCDCF Google (consent banner) remembers your answer to the banner 13 months technical
FCNEC Google (consent banner) measures how the banner works 12 months statistical, with consent
_ga Google Analytics distinguishes one visitor from another up to 2 years statistical, with consent
_ga_D5QWFKR6PH Google Analytics keeps the state of the visit session up to 2 years statistical, with consent
_fbp Meta pixel identifies the browser for Meta ads 90 days profiling, with consent
__gads Google AdSense advertising and security 13 months profiling, with consent
__gpi Google AdSense advertising and security 13 months profiling, with consent
__eoi Google AdSense security: detects invalid clicks 6 months with consent

Google advertising and the content listed in §7 (YouTube, TradingView, the live stream) are loaded from their own servers and may store their own cookies, which this site cannot read.

5. Readership statistics

With your consent we use Google Analytics to find out which articles are read. Google receives an identifier of your browser, the pages viewed, the type of device and an estimated location at city level.

Provider: Google Ireland Ltd.
Legal basis: your consent.
Retention: 14 months.

6. Advertising

The site shows Google AdSense ads. If you accept it in the banner, Google and the advertising partners listed in the banner use browser identifiers and the pages viewed to choose ads based on your interests: this is profiling. If you refuse, ads are still shown but they are not personalised.

Provider: Google Ireland Ltd.
Legal basis: your consent.

With your consent we also use the Meta pixel, to measure the visits that come from our ads on Facebook and on Meta’s other platforms. Meta receives a browser identifier and the pages viewed, and may link them to your profile. For the collection and transmission of these data we are joint controllers with Meta; for Meta’s subsequent use of them, Meta is the controller.

Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.
Legal basis: your consent.

7. Content from other sites

Some pages show content that your browser downloads directly from other servers, which therefore receive your IP address:

  • the WLTV live stream, broadcast from a server of ours at OVH SAS in France;
  • YouTube videos and previews (Google);
  • the TradingView currency exchange box;
  • the Google Fonts typefaces.

8. Comments

If you comment on an article we process your name, email, website if any, text and IP address. Name and text are public; the email is not. To detect spam, the comment filter runs three checks with external services:

  • it sends your IP address, without its last part, to IPLocate (IPLocate Pty Ltd, Australia), to find out which country the comment comes from;
  • it sends the text of the comment, if longer than ten words, to the language detection service of pluginkollektiv (Simon Kraft, Greven, Germany);
  • it sends a fingerprint (hash) of your email to Gravatar (Automattic Inc., USA). The same fingerprint is used to show the profile picture next to the comment.

Legal basis: your request to publish the comment.
Retention: as long as the article remains published, unless you ask for removal.

9. Messages and reports

If you write to us by email or send us a report with the “Segnala” button on WhatsApp, we process the data you give us: name, email or phone number, text, photos or videos. We use them to reply to you and, if it is a report, to verify the news. The WhatsApp conversation goes through WhatsApp Ireland Ltd.

Legal basis: your request.
Retention: 24 months from receipt.

10. Telegram channel

We publish our articles on the Telegram channel t.me/wltv_it, which anyone can read even without subscribing. We cannot see who follows it: subscribers’ data are processed by Telegram.

11. WLTV social media pages

When you interact with our pages on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube or X, the data are processed by the platform. For the statistics that Facebook provides to us about our pages we are joint controllers with Meta. The share buttons below the articles are simple links: they transmit no data until you press them.

12. English version and machine translation

The articles of wltv.it are also published in English, at addresses beginning with www.wltv.it/en/. The translation is made automatically by an artificial intelligence system and nobody reviews it before publication: every English article says so at the top and links to the original. If the two versions differ, the Italian text prevails.

The translation is carried out by Mistral AI (Paris, France). Mistral AI receives the text of articles already published, including the names of the people mentioned in them. It receives no data about the people who read the site: no IP address, no cookies, no pages viewed. It does not use the texts to train its models and does not keep them beyond the time needed to produce the translation.

We do not show Google AdSense ads on the English pages. The cookie banner appears there too, and the choice you make applies to both languages.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in making the articles readable also by people who do not know Italian.

13. Who we share the data with

With the providers that work on our behalf: OVH SAS (Roubaix, France), which hosts the site on servers in Milan and the live stream on servers in France, Google (statistics, advertising, videos, typefaces), Mistral AI (translation of articles into English), Automattic (profile pictures in comments), IPLocate and pluginkollektiv (anti-spam checks on comments).
With the parties that process the data on their own account: Meta, Telegram, WhatsApp, Defiant (Wordfence), TradingView and the advertising partners listed in the banner.
With the authorities, when the law requires it.

The data are not sold.

14. Data transferred outside the European Union

The site and its data are in the European Union, on OVH servers in Milan; the live stream on an OVH server in France.

Google, Meta, Defiant, Automattic and TradingView may process data in the United States. The transfer is based on the European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) for certified companies, and on standard contractual clauses in the other cases.

The translation is processed by Mistral AI in the European Economic Area. For the security of the service and technical support, Mistral AI also uses companies of its own group and providers based outside the European Economic Area, on the basis of standard contractual clauses.

IPLocate is based in Australia and has servers in Europe, the United States, Singapore and Australia; it receives only the shortened IP address.

15. Is providing the data mandatory?

Browsing data are necessary for the site to work. Statistics and personalised advertising are optional: if you refuse, you read the site in the same way. To comment or to receive a reply to a message, the data requested are needed.

16. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access your data, to rectify them, to erase them, to restrict their use, to receive them in a machine-readable format and to object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

You can withdraw your consent at any time from the “Review your cookie choices” link at the bottom of every page. The withdrawal takes effect from that moment on.

No decision concerning you is taken solely by automated means with legal effects.

To exercise your rights write to privacy@wltv.it. If you believe that your data are processed unlawfully you can lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).

17. Changes

We update this page when what the site does changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
